I am a classically trained tenor with a huge amount experience both on stage and in the concert arena. I have sung in operas, musicals and in concerts all over the world. I have sung for royalty and celebrities at venues large and small.
Recent big events include: a concert for around 20 royals at the Royal Palace in Oslo, Norway Day Celebrations in London attended by the Norwegian Ambassador and a lavish society wedding at the Chateau Rothschild, a concert at St Petersburg Philharmonic Concert Hall attended by Russian Ministers alongside international Mezzo-Soprano, Sarah Connolly.
My most recent opera work includes Mario Cavaradossi in ‘Tosca’ at the spectacular Minack Theatre in Cornwall, Don Jose in ‘Carmen’ , The Duke in ‘Rigoletto’, Tamino in ‘The Magic Flute’ , and Edmondo in ‘Manon Lescaut’ at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
In 2008 I signed a record deal with Sony BMG and recorded an album of classical versions of my favourite pop songs.
I have also performed in numerous musicals both in the west end and on tour. These include ‘Camelot’ for Surrey Opera, ‘West Side Story’ for Pimlico Opera, ‘Les Miserables’ for Cameron Mackintosh, ‘Whistle down the Wind’ for Bill Kenwright, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at the Watermill Theatre and many others. I toured Norway and the USA in a one-man musical version of Ibsen’s epic poem, ‘Terje Wigen’.
I also perform a one man show which I have written myself about 1950’s singer and movie star, Mario Lanza. It is an hour long drama packed with the songs which made Lanza famous. I have performed this to rave reviews in theatres and as a dinner show to great effect.
‘A New York Times headline read “Mario Lanza was born to sing” – so, might I suggest, was Andrew Bain.’
